Devon graduated from the Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing in Culver City where he learned Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports massage techniques. He has since studied with various teachers in the osteopathic style body work, Ortho-Bionomy®. His goal as a therapist is to meet his clients where they are at, guiding them to a place of balance and resilience. Having worked in various therapeutic as well as spa environments such as Equinox spa and gym,he puts great emphasis on structural assessment and functional optimization for performance or life. He believes in facilitating wellness by fostering the innate intelligence of the body through working with it as oppose to on it.
Sports massage: in this massage the therapist uses deep tissue pressure, fascial stretching, isometrics and neuromuscular releases to facilitate increased range of motion and pain free activity. Every session of this massage begins with a structural assessment to uncover holding patterns that may be keeping you in pain. It is perfect for anyone looking to get back into shape or optimize their functional movement.
Ortho-Bionomy®: this technique catalyzes the healing capacity of the body by gently guiding it into positions of comfort. This work is very soothing to the nervous system, great for neurological or structural problems (joint issues) and fosters a deep sense of listening in client and therapist alike. Similar to craniosacral therapy in its subtly, an Ortho-Bionomy® session will usually be ailment specific and is composed of gentle manipulation of the limbs or bones (like: scapulae, ribs and sacrum) into positions of comfort that are held for a short duration, initiating the body’s natural reflexive movements that allow it to find balance.
